The Student Athlete Summer Volunteer Program encourages student athletes from the Kalamazoo Valley Athletic Association to participate in summer volunteer service to their communities.

KVA schools: Battle Creek Pennfield, Constantine, Delton Kellogg, Galesburg-Augusta, Hackett Catholic Central, Kalamazoo Christian, Maple Valley, Olivet, Parchment and Schoolcraft.

Football players from the Association participated in a friendly competition to see which school could perform the most volunteer service during an eight week period. The teams from these 10 schools gave it their all and collectively volunteered more than 4,350 hours and provided support to 55 area nonprofit organizations.

The winners were announced at the Kalamazoo Classic football games in August. This year’s winners included a first place award of $1,000 to Parchment High School, a second place award of $600 to Hackett Central Catholic High School, and two third place awards of $400 to Constantine High School and Delton High School who tied for third place.

We thank these athletes for their outstanding service!
